World Environment Day: St Joseph's school celebrated World Environment Day on 4th and 5th of June, 2026 in a creative manner.

World Wide Fund(WWF) joined hands with our institution in celebrating this day in an enthusiastic manner in order to bring out strong commitment to environmental conservation as well as to be responsible citizens in safeguarding our Mother Earth. Ms. Shashikala Iyer, senior Specialist - policy and partnerships and Mr. Rahul,state director of WWF were the chief guests for the occasion. The chief guest Ms. Shashikala Iyer in her speech highlighted about sustainable conservation and management of critical wet land ecosystems. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Melwyn Anil Lobo in his speech created an awareness about our future planet and ways to conserve it. This was followed by an interactive environmental activities conducted by Ms. Surabhi and team in the school ground. The activities included life size floor games, web of life flashcard activity, turbidity of water, biodiversity jigsaw puzzle, wild life pictionary and quiz based activities. Saplings were planted by the dignitaries to mark the importance of the day. On 5th June, the students of class 10 presented a creative and informative skit highlighting the trapping of the microplastic by tamarind seeds powder in contaminated water. To mark this occasion Deloitte generously volunteered to distribute free saplings to the parents, encouraging them to contribute to a greener future. This thoughtful gesture not only marked the celebration of Environment Day but also inspired families and students to take a small yet meaningful steps towards protecting the environment.
