    ● Those who are forced by circumstances to come before 8:30 am shall sit in their respective classrooms and study.

    ● The first bell is given every day (8:20 am and 12:55 pm) and the second bell 5 minutes later (8:25 am and 1:00 pm). All students must be inside the classroom before the second bell. At the third bell, all must standstill, in their places silently.

    ● Pupils are expected to rise and wish while a teacher enters the classroom and must remain standing in silence until asked to sit or till the teacher takes his/her seat.

    ● Students are not allowed to leave the classroom during class hours without the respective teacher’s permission.

    ● Every pupil must wish the staff within the school premises or outside, on the occasion of his/her first encounter with them for the day.

    ● Courtesy in behavior and politeness conversation is the hallmark of an educated person. Words like ''Please'', ''Thank You'', ''May I'' should be used in daily conversation.

    ● Students are prohibited from bringing toys, changing of clothes or shoes without specific permission from the sports teachers and class teacher.

    ● Students involved in physical fights and/or gang fights, at anytime of the academic year, will be immediately dismissed from the school. The decision taken by the Principal will be final and binding.

    ● Recording videos or taking photographs of students, teachers, the Principal, or any staff members within the campus, as well as creating fake accounts in the name of the school or related to the school, and posting such content-especially trolls, memes, or offensive messages-on social media platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram) is strictly prohibited. Such actions will be treated as serious offences and will lead to strict disciplinary action.

    ● Irregular attendance, insubordination to teachers, habitual in attention to school work and obscenity in word or action are sufficient reasons for permanent or temporary dismissal of pupils. Minor offences, coming late to class habitually, moving about the corridors during class hours, are also punishable.

    ● Absenting oneself during important occasions will be considered as deliberate and commensurate action will be taken against such students.

    ● Damage to school property shall be made good, by the pupils concerned, by paying a fine.

    ● Electronic gadgets like Mobile phones, Digital Pads, MP3 players etc are strictly prohibited in School and will be treated as an offence and the device will be confiscated and not returned. A student must produce a request letter seeking permission from Principal in case he/she has to carry a cellphone (only basic keypad type) to contact parents or guardians in order to update about their whereabouts. The keypad cellphone must be handed over in the reception in the morning and collected back at dispersal only.

    ● The school calendar must be brought to school every day. Specimen signature of the parent (or guardian) has to be shown by every pupil on the page as indicated in the calendar.

    ● All books and the belongings of the pupil should be labelled, by which the owner can be easily known. All stray or unclaimed property should be brought to the office. Any loss of articles suffered by the pupils must be reported immediately to the teacher-in-charge or Co-ordinator.

    ● Pupils, without the Principal’s permission, must not join any external club or societies or make any commitments that would interfere with their studies. They are not allowed to play in any team against the school or take part in any tournaments outside without the Principal’s written permission.

    ● Letters, officially addressed to the Principal/Co-ordinator, should contain reply postage, if a reply is desired.

    ● Library books that are lost or damaged need to be replaced. In case the pupil is unable to procure the same, the cost of the book should be paid for in the school office.

    ● No presents/gifts may be given by a student or a parent to a teacher either in school or outside school without the Principal's consent. Collection of money for any purpose requires the sanction of the Principal.

    ● Every student must participate in school games and other activities unless declared physically unfit or exempted by the Principal. It is compulsory for all the students to take part in the Sport's Day programme. No student will be given permission to be absent on these days unless there is valid reason.

    ● Students will not be permitted to go to their friend's house or any other place directly from school even if it is with their parent's permission.

    ● Students are forbidden from bringing any change of clothes or make-up kit to school.

    ● Students from class 7 onwards must wear regular uniform only on their birthdays.

    ● The School encourages freedom of thought and speech. However, students must strictly refrain themselves from involving in politically or religiously sensitive issues that might call for strict action.

Behaviour

    ● Rudeness and bullying fellow students.

    ● Disobedience to school prefects.

    ● Disrespect to any staff member.

    ● Inappropriate behavior in public places.

    ● Use of abusive and indecent language at school.

    ● Physically hurting or exhibiting aggressive behaviour against another student.

    ● Forging a signature.

    ● Missing a class without permission.

    ● Writing in school library books, walls, desks or damaging school property.

    ● Writing and drawing on Uniform

    ● Leaving the school premises without authorized permission.

    ● Misbehaviour in the school bus.

    ● Non adherence to any school regulation.

    ● Chewing Gum

    ● Littering the Class or School Premises

Appearance

    ● Colouring of hair.

    ● Fancy haircuts/style

    ● Wearing fancy /digital/LED and smart watches/accessories

    ● Applying nail polish, lip gloss, lip balm with glitter or colour.

    ● Adorning hair with flowers, fancy clips, berets, coloured ribbons etc is not permitted.

    ● All boys need to attend school with short and proper hair cut.

    ● Nails should be clipped short.

    ● Gold earrings are not permitted

Behaviour Outside School Premises

● A student of SJS represents the school even outside school hours and wherever he/she goes. Therefore, the school will take appropriate action when any immoral or violent misconduct is reported.
