Faith as Openness to the Other – Feast of St. Ignatius On 16 July, students of St. Joseph’s School, CBSE, Bengaluru — Danish Ahmed, Darren Fernandes, J. Daniel Mario, Elaina Maria Sunil, and Samay — joined Jesuit schools worldwide on Educate Magis to celebrate the Feast of St. Ignatius. The theme, “Faith as Openness to the Other,” was explored through reflection on the short film Snack Attack. Our students connected this to St. Ignatius’ call to “find God in all things” and to keep our hearts open to those who are different. Through this global classroom, voices from across nations reflected on how faith grows when we welcome the other — turning judgment into dialogue and difference into blessing. The participation of our students highlighted that openness builds empathy, humility, and unity, echoing the Ignatian vision of seeing God’s presence in every encounter.
