A workshop on “Safeguarding and Responsible Governance in Educational Institutions” was conducted on 26 May 2026 at the SJIPS Auditorium, St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions, Bengaluru. The session focused on important topics such as POCSO Act, POSH Act, Law on Corporal Punishment, and the Karnataka Child Protection Policy in educational institutions. The resource persons, Rev. Fr. Harry Terry SJ and Ms. Sangeetha Thomas, Assistant Professors from St. Joseph College of Law, highlighted the legal and ethical responsibilities of educators in ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for students and staff. The workshop was informative and enriching, creating awareness about child protection, prevention of harassment, gender sensitivity, and the importance of maintaining a secure and child-friendly atmosphere in schools.
