May 07, 2026

Recognising the increasing importance of emotional well-being in the lives of children and adolescents, St. Joseph’s School, Bengaluru, organised an impactful Capacity Building Programme on Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing among Students on 25th May 2026 for the teaching faculty. The programme served as an enriching platform to create awareness about the vital role schools and educators play in nurturing emotionally healthy and resilient learners. The insightful session was led by the distinguished experts Ms. Renu Singh from Air Force School, JC Nagar, and Ms. Geetha Kannadaraji from Delhi Public School, Bagalur. The experts encouraged educators to become sensitive observers and compassionate mentors who can identify early signs of emotional distress and provide timely support. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, the programme emphasised on the importance of empathy, positive communication, emotional safety and inclusive classroom practices in fostering student wellbeing. A key highlight of the programme was the introduction to the School-Based Mental Health Service Programme (SMHP), which focused on creating a supportive and nurturing environment within educational institutions. Therefore, the programme proved to be highly insightful and impactful, inspiring educators to strengthen their role in promoting mental health awareness and ensuring the holistic development and wellbeing of every student.
